Issuance & Redemption of UNI$

Q. Do I qualify for UNI$?
A. You will automatically qualify for UNI$ when you charge to your UOB Card. However, the programme does not apply to the following cards: SingTel-UOB Card, UOB One Card, Platinum Business MasterCard, Empire World MasterCard for Business Cardmembers who opt for Cash Rebate, Cardmembers of a UOB Corporate Card whose company opted for a cash rebate, Private Label, non-UNI$ earning Cards, UOB NOW Card, UOB Direct Visa Card, UOB Debit Visa Card, SmartClub transactions as well as 0% Installment Payment Plan.

Q. How do I earn UNI$?
A. You earn UNI$1 for every S$5 retail purchase charged to your UOB Credit Card. UNI$ is calculated based on the value of card transactions effected daily and rounded down to the nearest UNI$. Refunded retail purchases, cash advances, interest charges, balance transfers, late payment charges, finance charges, annual fees and other miscellaneous charges will not be credited with UNI$.

Q. Can Supplementary Cardmember(s) earn and redeem UNI$?
A. Supplementary Cardmember(s) will earn UNI$ and these UNI$ will be accumulated in the Principal Cardmember's account. Only Principal Cardmembers can redeem UNI$.

Q. When do my UNI$ expire?
A.All UNI$ will expire two years from the quarterly period in which they were earned.

Q. How do I check and redeem my UNI$ balance?
A. Your UNI$ balance is reflected in your monthly Credit Card statements. Alternatively, you may also check and redeem your UNI$ balance at www.uob.com.sg/rewards or by calling our 24-Hour hotline (IVR) 1800 222 2121 and follow the automated instructions. In addition, you can redeem your Rewards on-the-spot at our Instant Rewards Partners locations.

Q. Why do I need SMS One Time Password to login to redeem my rewards?
A. A SMS One Time Password will be issued to each UOB Cardmember who wishes to conduct any online redemption of rewards to ensure a more secured online redemption between that UOB Cardmember with United Overseas Bank Limited ("UOB").

Q. When will this take effect from?
A. This will be effective from 08 November 2015.

Q. How to obtain my SMS One Time Password for my rewards login?
A. If your registered mobile phone number has been registered with us in our records, a SMS One Time Password will be sent to that mobile phone. Please ensure that your registered mobile phone number maintained with us in our records is your most up-to-date registered mobile phone number.

If your registered mobile phone number has not been registered with us in our records or if you wish to update your registered mobile phone number maintained in our records, you can register or, where applicable, update your registered mobile phone number with us through any one of the following methods:-

(i) by visiting a UOB Branch near you; or

(ii) if you have a Personal Internet Banking account with us, by clicking here; or

(iii) if you do not have a Personal Internet Banking account with us, by clicking here.

Q. Can I combine the UNI$ that I have earned from my different UOB Credit Card Accounts or transfer these UNI$ between my Accounts?
A. Under the UOB Rewards Programme, UNI$ earned from different UOB Card Accounts of the same UOB Principal Cardmember will be aggregated. However, the UNI$ is not transferable between accounts of different UOB Cardmembers.

Q. What is the validity period of the UOB 2016 Rewards Programme and Voucher(s) redeemed?
A. The programme starts in January 2016 and ends on 31 December 2016. All UOB Rewards Vouchers must be utilised within 3 months from date of issuance, unless otherwise stated on the Vouchers. No extension will be granted.

Q. How long will it take to process my UNI$ redemption request?
A. For redemptions made online or through UOB 24-hour self-service hotline, please allow approximately seven (7) working days for the processing of your redemption request. Alternatively, you can choose to redeem your Rewards on-the-spot at our Instant Rewards Partners.

Q. How do I know that my online redemption request has been successful?
A. You will receive an online confirmation when your redemption request is successful. The UNI$ amount redeemed will be immediately deducted from your account. Following that, the Rewards Voucher will be mailed to you.

Q. How do I pay the cash portion for a partial redemption?
A. The cash portion for a partial redemption is automatically billed to your UOB Card Account that was used to redeem the gift of your choice. Partial redemption is made available to Credit Cardmembers only.

Q. Can I request to cancel or replace the Vouchers?
A. We regret that cancellation of Rewards Vouchers will not be accepted once you have confirmed the redemption. A $10 administrative fee per Voucher will apply for each Voucher replacement.

Q. Can I use more than one Rewards Voucher per transaction?
A. In the redemption of any reward, only one Rewards Voucher per visit may be used, unless otherwise stated on the Voucher.

Q. How do I redeem my reward?
A. To redeem your reward, you or your representative need to present the relevant Voucher with your authorised signature as proof of eligibility to the relevant participating merchant. For purchases exceeding the value of the Voucher, you or your representative need to charge the difference to a UOB Card. There shall be no refund, in any form whatsoever, if the value of the goods and/or services is below that of the Rewards Voucher.

Instant Rewards Programme

Q. How does the Instant Rewards Programme work?
A. UOB Principal Cardmembers can now redeem their UNI$ for Vouchers, on the spot, at participating malls and retail/dining outlets.

A thermal receipt stating the Voucher amount will be generated on-the-spot for Cardmembers. There are two modes of arrangements at Instant Rewards partners. The thermal receipt shall be exchanged for partners' gift Vouchers or used to offset purchases (Eg at Toys 'R' Us, Best Denki, EpiCentre and Metro) directly on the same day.

A balance enquiry of the UOB Principal Cardmember's1 existing UNI$ may also be performed at the point of instant redemption.

Q. Who are the Instant Rewards Partners?
A. The list of participating Instant Rewards partners can be found in the Instant Rewards section.

Q. What do I need to perform an instant redemption?
A. To perform an instant redemption, the Principal Cardmember must first present his/her NRIC to the customer service staff to verify ownership of the credit card. Sufficient UNI$ is necessary to ensure successful redemption. The Principal Cardmember must also endorse the redemption receipt created by the terminals.

Q. Can I request to cancel or replace the thermal receipt issued?
A. We regret that any cancellation or replacement of thermal receipt will not be accepted once you have confirmed the redemption. Defaced/torn thermal receipts are also not accepted.

Frequent Flyer Programme

Q. What is the conversion rate of UNI$ to KrisFlyer or Asia Miles?
A. Your UNI$ can be converted to either KrisFlyer or Asia miles (in blocks of 10,000 miles) at the conversion rate of 1 UNI$1 = 2 miles.

Q. Are there any charges to convert UNI$ into air miles?
A. A S$25 administrative fee will be imposed for each conversion.

Q.Is the redemption of the frequent flyer miles applicable for all cards?
A.Redemption of frequent flyer miles is made available to Credit Cardmembers only.

Q. How long will it take to process my linkage request to link my membership account number to my UOB Card?
A. You should allow approximately 5 working days.

Q. How long will it take to process my request to convert UNI$ to frequent flyer miles?
A. You should allow approximately 14-21 working days.

Q. Will I receive a Rewards Voucher or a confirmation regarding the successful conversion of my UNI$ to frequent flyer miles?
A. Although there is no specific confirmation, you can, however, contact the respective airlines for an update.
